Flying Solo is a comic book about wanting to make comics. The interior pages combine blind-contour drawings with photography to differentiate between fantasy and reality.

In 2023, I decided to reprint my 2009 comic and took the opportunity to rework the cover. I came up with this title treatment to evoke the overlapping and intersecting shapes found in my drawings. For the original cover, I recreated a panel from one of the book’s pages. For this new one, I decided to do the same, but chose a different panel that reflects my current attitude towards making comics and self-publishing.
